Annotation.

This article examines the mechanism of vetting as an effective instrument of transitional justice, especially in the post-revolutionary Republic of Armenia. The author reveals the significance of vetting in the context of restoring public confidence in the judicial system, increasing the integrity and independence of judges. The article examines in detail the implementation of vetting using examples from international experience, paying special attention to its legal basis, the need for constitutional provisions, as well as the composition, functions and formation of control mechanisms of the body implementing vetting. The article analyzes potential risks and speculations that could transform vetting into a tool for political retribution, a departure from its original objectives. The author proposes a phased and comprehensive approach that combines the vetting process with the reorganization of the judicial system, the training of new judges and broad public involvement. Effective implementation of vetting is considered an important prerequisite for the establishment of a legal state and the rule of law in the Republic of Armenia.
